Silver Sounds Podcast

This spring, Reach and Connect was asked by Alexandra Palace’s Creative Learning Team to host a Podcast Project for older people to discuss themes of Ageing and Belonging

We invited a mixed group of residents in terms of ages, backgrounds and cultures to meet for 5 Wednesdays and learn about producing and creating content for public broadcast.  It was a great success, and you can listen to the result here!

Bringing people together to chat about ageing, could have been just one long moan – but instead we laughed, shared stories, gasped at each other’s achievements and found common ground in our journeys and experiences.  

Producing the Podcast showed our ability to learn new skills, question our situation, and challenge society’s view of older people. It brought us together as a community, fostered bonds and developed new friendships.

We are immensely grateful to everyone for their time, generosity, and kindness to each other. 

We hope people enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!
